RING IN- RING OUT- CHRISTMAS

COPY THIS EXTRACT IN YOUR NOTEBOOK:

Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
   The flying cloud, the frosty light:
   The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
   Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
   The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

Ring in the valiant man and free,
   The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
   Ring out the darkness of the land,
Ring in the Christ that is to be.

1- Click here to read an extract of "In Memoriam", a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson
2-Choose two verses from the poem. One should start "Ring in" and the other "Ring out". They do not need to be together in the poem. Choose the ones you prefer.
3- Draw two bells, like the ones above (you can photocopy them), colour and decorate them and copy the "Ring in" verse on the first bell and the "Ring out" one on the second.
4-Click here to see ideas for Christmas greetings. Choose one and add it at the back

All the bells will be the decoration for our classroom. On the day before the holidays you will take yours home and give it to your family!!!
